European elections in Luxembourg in 1994
The European elections in Luxembourg in 1994 were the fourth direct election of the members of the European Parliament. It took place on June 12, 1994 as part of the EU- wide European elections in 1994 . In Luxembourg , six of the 567 seats in the European Parliament were awarded using the D'Hondt procedure . The Luxembourg parliamentary election took place at the same time as the election .
Result
Compared to the 1989 election , there were only minor changes in the election results. However, this time the green parties GLEI and GAP ran together as Déi Gréng and were able to win one of the six mandates, benefiting from the low losses of the Christian Democratic CSV. A year later, the green parties merged, whereby their MEP Jup Weber did not participate in the merger and in 1995 transferred from the Greens to the European Radical Alliance .
