Ling Kang

Ling Kang (born March 14, 1997 in Jiangsu ) is a Chinese automobile racing driver . He became the Asian kart champion in 2012.

Career

Ling began his motorsport career in karting in 2004 , where he was active until 2012. In 2012 he won the x30 class of the Asian Kart Championship. In the Kart World Championship he was the best Asian 28th. In 2013, Ling switched to formula racing and moved to Europe. He started in the French F4 championship and finished 20th in the drivers' championship. In 2014 Ling was without permanent engagement and he competed in four racing series in individual races. First, he completed three events for Koiranen GP in the Alpine Formula Renault . He then joined ADM Motorsport and took part in a racing weekend in the British Formula 3 Championship . Then he took part in two events of the German Formula 3 Cup for ADM Motorsport as a guest starter. At the end of the year Ling competed for Trident Racing in the GP3 series at the season finale.

In 2015 Ling switched to Mücke Motorsport in the European Formula 3 championship . After the seventh race weekend, he left the championship. A 20th place was his best result. In addition, he carried out four guest starts for DAV Racing in the Euroformula Open . In the 2016 Euroformula Open season , Ling competed in the first three events for DAV Racing. Eleventh place was his best results. In GT racing, Ling also drove two races each in the Italian GT championship and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo . He won one race each.

In 2018 Ling won the Silver Cup class of the 24-hour race in Spa for Ombra Racing together with his teammates Alex Frassineti , Romain Monti and Andrea Rizzoli . The team competed with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 .
