The WKF Karate World Championship 2012 in Paris-Bercy was the WKF's 21st Karate World Championship . It was the second time since 1972 that the Karate World Championships were held in Paris . They took place from November 21st to 25th, 2012 at the Palais Omnisports in Paris . A total of 990 athletes from 116 nations competed. 16 titles were awarded. Up to 17,000 spectators were present every day. Competitions in kata and kumite were held. As hosts, France was the most successful nation at the 2012 World Cup with seven gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
