Karen Bradley

Karen Anne Bradley (* 12. March 1970 in Newcastle-under-Lyme as Karen Anne Howarth ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party and former management consultant. She has been MP for the constituency of Staffordshire Moorlands since the 2010 general election . She has held various ministerial posts and served as Minister for Northern Ireland from January 8, 2018 to July 24, 2019 .

Childhood and career

Bradley was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme . Her family moved to Buxton, Derbyshire, and she graduated from Buxton Girls' School and Imperial College London with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.

In addition to positions at various consulting firms as a chartered accountant (auditor) and chartered tax adviser (tax advisor) from 1991 to 2004 and 2007 to 2010, she was an independent financial advisor from 2004 to 2007.

Political career

Bradley served on various committees before becoming Secretary of State ( Junior Minister ) in the Home Office in 2014 . In July 2016 she became Minister for Culture, Media and Sport in the May I cabinet . Bradley became Minister for Northern Ireland as part of the 2018 cabinet reshuffle .

Private

She is married to Neil Bradley and has two sons.
