Greg Clark (politician, 1967)
Greg Clark (* 28. August 1967 in Middlesbrough ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party .
Life
After completing his schooling at the South Bank Comprehensive School , Clark studied economics at Magdalene College in Cambridge and then in London at the London School of Economics and Political Science , where he received his Ph.D. reached. After completing his studies, Clark worked as a consultant for Ian Lang from 1996 to 1997. In 2005, Clark was elected to the British House of Commons for Tunbridge Wells as a Conservative Party MP .
After his party's victory in the general election in 2015 , Clark became Minister for Municipalities and Local Government in the Cameron II cabinet .
In the first government of Theresa May , he held the newly created post of minister of economy, energy and industrial strategy ( Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy ), which he also in the second Government May held. After Boris Johnson took office as Prime Minister , he announced his resignation on July 24, 2019. On September 4, 2019, he was expelled from the Conservative Party faction due to his parliamentary opposition to a Brexit without an EU exit agreement. Clark is married and has three children. He lives in Tunbridge Wells with his family.
