Tina Wendy Stowell, Baroness Stowell of Beeston MBE PC (born July 2, 1967 in Nottingham ) is a British Conservative Party politician who has been a Life Peeress member of the House of Lords since 2011 .

Life

After attending school, Tina Stowell worked for the Department of Defense from 1986 to 1988 and then at the US Embassy until 1991 before she worked at the press office of 10 Downing Street , the official residence of Prime Minister John Major, from 1991 to 1996 . For her services there she became a member of the Order of the British Empire in 1996 .

Then she was initially 1996 to 1998 assistant in various companies of the private sector such as from Paradine Productions and Granada Media , and then from 1998 to 2001 deputy chief of staff of William Hague , who at that time leader of the Conservative Party and the opposition in the House of Commons .

In 2001 she moved to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), where she was Deputy Secretary and then Head of Communications for the Chairman and the BBC Board of Governors between 2003 and 2008 , before moving to Corporate Affairs at the BBC from 2008 to 2010. Most recently, she founded her own communications consultancy company in 2010 called Tina Stowell Associates .

By a letters patent dated January 10, 2011 Tina Stowell was elevated to the nobility as a life peeress with the title Baroness Stowell of Beeston , of Beeston in the County of Nottinghamshire . Shortly thereafter, took place on 12 January 2011. Introduction ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . There she became Parliamentary Executive Director ( Whip ) of the conservative government faction with the title of Baroness-in-Waiting to HM The Queen .

At the same time, she was spokesperson for the government group on energy and climate change and international development between 2011 and 2012 and has also been the spokesperson for the Home Office , the UK Home Office , since 2011 . Since 2012 she has also been the spokesperson for culture, media and sport, Northern Ireland, women and equality as well as for work and pensions in the Tories group .
