Karl Burghof

Karl Burghof (born July 24, 1896 in Koblenz ; died May 27, 1972 in Kellenbach ) was a Prussian administrative officer and district administrator of the Sankt Wendel-Baumholder district (remainder) and the Biedenkopf district .

Life

The son of Catholic auxiliary telegraphist and later railway chief secretary Karl Burghof and his wife Elisabeth Burghof née Christmann, born in Koblenz, Karl attended the Kaiser Wilhelm grammar school there . On 20 August 1914 just weeks after the start of the First World War he enlisted as a volunteer one to the military, which until October 1, 1915, he his military service nachkam. As a war veteran returning, courtyard took a degree with a double major in German , history and political science at the universities of Berlin and Bonn on which he and the promotion of Dr. rer. pol ( Doctor of Law and Political Science). The title of his work, which he presented to the Philosophical Faculty in Bonn on December 19, 1925 : Soil, Apartment and Pension in Koblenz in the years 1814-1914 .

After completing his studies, Burghof found employment with the city administration of Bad Godesberg, the district office of the district of Bonn and its district committee , before returning to his home region on August 20, 1927 with his appointment as mayor of St. Goar . Furthermore, on July 18, 1933, one day after the leave of absence of the previous district administrator of the Sankt Wendel-Baumholder district (remainder), Burghof was transferred to Otto Hoevermann and initially the management of the administration there. On December 9, 1933, he was appointed Acting District Administrator before March 27, 1934, with effect from April 1 1934, the definitive appointment received the head of the district Sankt Wendel-Baumholder (residual). Burghof remained in this position until the district was abolished on April 1, 1937, while at the same time being incorporated into the newly created district of Birkenfeld . He then received a new post with the decree of September 13, 1937 with the initially provisional transfer of the administration of the district office of the Biedenkopf district (definitive appointment on April 1, 1938). He remained in this office until his dismissal on March 31, 1945.

After joining the NSDAP on May 24, 1932 (membership number 1.221.749), Karl Burghof took on various functions until 1936. From September 1, 1932 to April 10, 1936, those as district party judges of the NSDAP and from January 1, 1933 to November 1, 1934 as district-municipal advisors are documented. Also as a circle speaker (1932), local group leader and district trainer.

The Protestant Karl Burghof married Berta Wilhelmine Klementine Weber (born July 27, 1893 in Hagenow ) in Bonn on February 27, 1923 , a daughter of the pharmacy owner Weber and his wife Luise nee Schneider.
