Karl Telford Frederick (born February 2, 1881 in Chateaugay, Franklin County NY , † February 11, 1963 in Rye, Westchester County NY ) was an American sports marksman .
At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, he won a total of three gold medals in individual and team competitions with the free pistol at a distance of 50 meters and in team competitions with the rapid-fire pistol . At the 1948 Games in London he was the team leader of the American rifle team.
Karl Frederick studied law at Princeton University and Harvard University until 1908 , and practiced as a lawyer in New York for many years . In the 1930s he served as President of the National Rifle Association .
