Mikhail Valeryevich Nestrujew ( Russian Михаил Валерьевич Неструев ; born October 28, 1968 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian sports shooter .
successes
Mikhail Nestruyev took part in three Olympic Games . At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he qualified with the air pistol with 583 points as third for the final, in which he just missed a medal with 99.3 points and thus 682.3 total points in fourth. Also in 2004 in Athens he reached the final with the air pistol, this time with a new Olympic record of 591 points. With 689.8 points he was 0.2 points behind Wang Yifu and won the silver medal in front of his compatriot Vladimir Issakov . With the free pistol he also made it to the finals with points and, thanks to 663.3 points ahead of Jin Jong-oh and Kim Jong-su, received the gold medal as Olympic champion . The 2008 Olympic Games in Athens ended Nestrujew with the air pistol in 28th place and with the free pistol in 23rd place.
At world championships Nestruev won five titles and nine silver medals. He secured his first title in Moscow in 1990 with the air pistol team. In 1998 he won the individual competition with the standard pistol in Barcelona , while he was second with the team in the disciplines of free pistol, large-bore pistol and air pistol. In 2002 in Lahti Nestrujew was world champion in both individual and team competitions with the air pistol. With the large caliber pistol he finished second in the individual as well as with the free pistol in the team competition. Four years later he won the title with the large-caliber team in Zagreb and was second again in the team disciplines with the free pistol, the air pistol and the standard pistol. In 2006 he became vice world champion with the large-caliber pistol. At European championships Nestrujew won over 30 titles and over 40 national championships.
Mikhail Nestruyev is married and has one child.
