Alexei Petrovich Guschtschin ( Russian Алексей Петрович Гущин ; born January 5, 1922 in Voronezh Oblast , Russian SFSR ; † December 14, 1986 in Moscow ) was a Soviet sports shooter .
successes
Alexei Gushchin took part in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome in the competition with the Free Pistol , in which he set a new Olympic record with 560 points. He stayed eight points ahead of second-placed Machmud Umarov and Yoshihisa Yoshikawa and became Olympic champion . As early as 1958 he won the silver medal in individual at the World Championships in Moscow with the free pistol and secured the title with the team. He repeated this team success in 1962 in Cairo .
