Karl Ludwig Ferdinand von Klüchtzner ( February 1736 in Lithuania , † January 12, 1809 in Bartenstein ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

His parents were the Hessian captain and gentleman at Esterhof Gotthard Walter von Klüchtzner (* 1705) and his wife Wilhelmine, born von Westernhagen (* 1707; † April 27, 1790) from the house services.

Military career

Klüchtzner came in 1754 as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Lehwaldt" of the Prussian army . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles near Groß-Jägersdorf , Zorndorf , Kay and Kunersdorf as well as the battle near Maxen and the sieges of Demmin and Kolberg. He was wounded near Zorndorf and Kunersdorf. In the time he was on September 14, 1757 Ensign, on 23 September 1758 second lieutenant , and on December 11, 1762 First Lieutenant .

After the war, Klüchtzner was promoted to captain and company commander until March 1, 1777 . As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On September 29, 1788 he became major and on October 13, 1790 battalion commander. On April 8, 1791, Klüchtzner was given command of the regiment's grenadier battalion. In this capacity he took part in the campaign in Poland in 1794/95 . For the battle at Magniszewo he received the order Pour le Mérite on November 11, 1794 . On January 18, 1786 he rose to lieutenant colonel and on June 9, 1798 was colonel . On October 22, 1799, he was appointed regimental commander. On May 20, 1806 he was promoted to major general with a patent from May 28, 1806. During the Fourth Coalition War , Klüchtzner was captured in a battle near Waltersdorf, but was released again. On August 16, 1807 he received his resignation with a pension of 600 thalers. After the defeat of Prussia, this was reduced to 400 thalers on September 4, 1807. He died on January 12, 1809 in Bartenstein in East Prussia.

Klüchtzner married on April 7, 1776 in Romsdorf (Friedland district) Katharina Wilhelmine Countess zu Eulenburg (* July 15, 1748; † March 22, 1803). The couple had the following children:
