Karl Schröders

Karl Theodor Schröders (born November 21, 1796 in Brandenburg an der Havel , † June 26, 1867 in Bielefeld ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Origin and family

Karl Theodor was a son of the assessor at the excise and customs directorate, and later privy councilor Friedrich Wilhelm Schröder (1756-1824) and Karoline Amalie, nee Lange.

His marriage to Ludowika Singelmann (1798–1879), which he entered into in 1817, resulted in four daughters and a son.

Career

Schröders began his career in the Prussian army in 1809 as a hunter in the 1st Jäger Battalion , advanced to portepeef ensign in 1809 , secondary lieutenant in 1810 and was assigned to the general war school in 1810/11 . In 1811 he went to the 1st East Prussian Infantry Regiment and took part in the Sixth Coalition War and the Wars of Liberation , in particular the battles at Wollgund, Eckau, Schlockhof, Bernburg (where he was wounded), at Danigkow, Merseburg, Colditz, Königswartha, Löwenberg, Goldberg, Saint-Dizier , La Chaussée, Châlons, Château-Thierry , the crossing near Wartenburg (Award: Iron Cross II. Class), the battles near Großgörschen , Bautzen , the Katzbach , near Leipzig (again wounded) and Laon . In 1814 he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant and was promoted to captain and company commander in 1815. In 1834 he was promoted to major , in 1844 to lieutenant colonel and in 1847 to colonel . In the same year he was initially commissioned to lead the 13th Infantry Regiment and Schröders was appointed regimental commander.

Schröder has his 1850 farewell as a major general with pension received was in 1857 with pension for disposition made and 1863 with the Red Eagle Award II. Class with oak leaves.
