Friedrich Karl Franz von Lebbin (born October 25, 1794 in Halberstadt , † July 16, 1855 in Berlin-Pankow ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 4th Cavalry Brigade .

Karl was the son of the Prussian lieutenant colonel Johann Friedrich Bernhard von Lebbin († 1837) and his wife Anna Maria Antonie, born von Branconi (1764-1835), a sister of the district administrator Anton von Branconi .

Life

Lebbin visited the Berlin cadet house and on May 9, 1812 joined the normal dragoon squadron of the Prussian army as portepeefähnrich . On February 22, 1813, he was transferred to the light guard cavalry regiment as a second lieutenant . During the Wars of Liberation he took part in the battles near Bautzen and Leipzig as well as in the battles near Haynau . Lebbin received the Iron Cross II. Class and the Order of St. Stanislaus II. Class for Ebersdorf .

After the war, on February 21, 1815, he joined the Guard Dragoons Regiment and was promoted to Rittmeister and squadron chief by mid-October 1819 . Lebbin was aggregated to the 3rd Dragoon Regiment on May 26, 1823 . On March 30, 1836, he became a major in the Adjutantur and became Adjutant of the General Command of the 1st Army Corps . He stayed there until July 8, 1843, when Lebbin was assigned to the 5th Dragoons Regiment and on March 30, 1844, was entrusted with the command of the 11th Hussar Regiment . Shortly thereafter appointed regimental commander, he rose to colonel by May 1848 and received the Order of the Red Eagle III at the end of July 1849 . Class with swords. On April 18, 1850 Lebbin was the commander of the 4th Cavalry Brigade and on May 20, 1850 the 11th Hussar Regiment aggregated. On March 23, 1852 he received his promotion to major general and on September 14, 1852 the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with swords on the ring.

Lebbin participated in the April 11, 1854 his farewell with pension and died on 16 July 1855 in Berlin-Pankow. His funeral took place in Craatzen, Soldin district. His sister Amalie Caroline (1801–1876) was married there to Rittmeister Gustav Adolf Lucas von Cranach (1790–1861) and brother of General Julius von Cranach .

Lebbin married on June 1, 1828 in Stargard in Pomerania Susanne Witzmann (1807–1872), a daughter of the Stettin merchant Karl Ludwig Witzmann.
