Karlshof is a district of the Lauterhofen market in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate . It is a former homestead. Today the Regens-Wagner-Stiftung Lauterhofen is housed there.

history

The Karlshof exists since the 8th century and is derived from Charlemagne , who often stayed here.

On February 14, 1852, Rosina Weber from Marbertshofen and Maria Anna Beer and Kunigunde Lehmeier from Lauterhofen bought the remaining buildings of Oberlauterhofen Castle in order to build a "rescue facility for poor neglected children". In 1860 the "Klösterl" received its first house chapel with a way of the cross. In 1881 the women were admitted to the Dillinger Franciscan Sisters and the “Lauterhofen Cretan Institute” was opened. In 1900 the planning of a separate institution church began. The construction was completed in 1904 and on 4 August of the year by the Eichstätter Bishop Franz Leopold of Leonrod ordained . The church was placed under the patronage of St. Elisabeth of Thuringia . In 1929 it was enlarged, in 1930 a church tower was built and in 1931 the high altar was consecrated. Today the church is the seat of a curate .

In 1881 Karlshof joined the Regens-Wagner Foundation. Since then, people with disabilities have been cared for here. During the Second World War there was a hospital here . From 1945 to 1960 there was also a pulmonary hospital . The funding centers have existed since 1988 and the workshops since 1990, and a care area according to SGB ​​XI since the end of 2003 .
