The 2002/03 season was the eleventh season of the Kazakh ice hockey professional league . Seven clubs took part in the competition. The title of Kazakh Champion was secured for the tenth time by the Kaszink Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . Ust-Kamenogorsk won the championship title for the fourth time in a row. At the same time, the Kazakh Ice Hockey Cup was held for the second time , which Ust-Kamenogorsk also won, making the second double in a row perfect.

The seven participants played in a quadruple round, so that each team had the number of 24 games. The team with the most points secured the championship in the end.

For a win in the regular playing time of 60 minutes, a team received two points, the losing opponent received nothing. In the event of a tie, each team received one point.

After the 24 rounds, Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk confidently secured the championship title. The team won 23 of their 24 games and thus defended the title. The newly founded Kasachmys Karaganda immediately secured the title of runner-up. The last three-time runner-up Barys Astana slipped to fifth place. Jessil Petropavlovsk remained without any point .

Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk played in parallel in the second-rate Russian Wysschaja League during the season . The second team of Ust-Kamenogorsk ran in the third-rate Russian Pervaya League , as did the newly founded Kasachmys Karaganda. In addition, Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk took part in the IIHF Continental Cup in the 2002/03 season and again reached the second round.
