Kasper Degn (born February 25, 1982 in Herning ) is a Danish ice hockey striker who has been under contract with Herning Blue Fox in the AL-Bank Ligaen since December 2015 . His brother Lasse is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Kasper Degn began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the Herning Blue Fox , for which he was active from 1998 to 2004 in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . With his team he won the Danish championship title in 2001 and 2003 . In the 2003/04 season he was the top scorer and best template provider of the AL-Bank Ligaen and also had the best plus / minus balance of all players. After the successful time in Herning he moved to Nordsjælland Cobras , with whom he won the Danish Cup in 2005. A year later he was named the best Dane in the AL-Bank Ligaen.
From 2008 to 2010 Degn was in the 2nd Bundesliga with the Bietigheim Steelers under contract. With the Steelers he won the second division championship in the 2008/09 season. In August 2010 the national player returned to his Danish homeland and signed a contract with AaB Ishockey in the AL-Bank Ligaen. After four seasons in Aalborg, his contract was not renewed after the 2013/14 season. After Degn at the beginning of the following season was a short time without a club, he signed on December 2014, again at his hometown club Herning Blue Fox and won there at the end of the season the championship . After the Dane originally ended his career in April 2015, he announced his comeback for the Blue Fox in December 2015 .
International
For Denmark , Degn participated in the junior division of the U18 Junior B World Championships in 1999 and 2000 , the U20 Junior C World Championships in 2001 and 2002 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1999 and 2000 . In the senior sector, Degn took part in the B World Cup in 2002 and the A World Cup in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 for Denmark . He was also in his country's squad for the qualifying tournaments for the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics .
Degn achieved greater fame in Germany when he scored his team's 3-2 winning goal against the German national team in the decisive game of the relegation round at the 2005 World Cup , which was then relegated to Division I, while Denmark remained in the top division.
