Kateryna Wolodymyriwna Klymjuk ( Ukrainian Катерина Володимирівна Климюк ; born June 2, 1995 ) is a Ukrainian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run and who is particularly successful with the Ukrainian 4-by-400-meter relay.

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Kateryna Klymjuk took part in the 2011 World Youth Championships near Lille . There she was eliminated from the individual competition in the semifinals and even with the Ukrainian sprint relay (1000 meters) she could not reach the final. At the Junior European Championships 2013 in Rieti , she took fourth place with the Ukrainian relay. In 2014 she made it to the semifinals of the Junior World Championships in the United States. In 2015 she finished fifth at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with the Ukrainian 4 x 400 meter relay and was eliminated in the individual competition in the preliminary round. Two years later she won the bronze medal with the Ukrainian relay at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland . In the individual competition, she was eliminated again in the preliminary run. In addition, she was second with the Ukrainian team at the European Team Championship in France. She also qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with the relay in the preliminary round . A few weeks later, she took part in the World Student Games in Taipei , where she finished eighth in the individual competition and was disqualified with the relay.

In 2018 she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with the Ukrainian relay and finished fourth in 3: 31.32 minutes. At the European Championships in Berlin , she was disqualified with the relay in the run-up. The following year, she retired at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 53.68 s in the first round and at the World Relays in Yokohama she was disqualified with the 4 x 400 meter relay in the preliminary run. In July she was eighth in 52.52 s at the Summer Universiade in Naples and won the season in 3: 30.82 min.

In 2017, Klymjuk became the Ukrainian champion in the 400-meter run.
