Lottinghen is about 22 kilometers east-southeast of Boulogne-sur-Mer . The municipality is part of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature Park .

Lottinghen is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Quesques in the north, Seninghem in the east, Bléquin in the east and south-east, Senlecques in the south, Vieil-Moutier in the west and south-west, Saint-Martin-Choquel in the west and Selles in the north-west.
