Wacquinghen is a French municipality with 262 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Boulogne-sur-Mer and the Terre des Deux Caps municipal association . The inhabitants call themselves Wacquinghenois .

geography

Wacquinghen is located between Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer , about six kilometers east of the English Channel coast . The neighboring communities are Beuvrequen in the north, Offrethun in the east, Maninghen-Henne in the south and Wimille in the west. The municipality of only 247 hectares in the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature Park belongs to the catchment area of ​​the coastal river Slack . Except for a park around the Château de Berguette , the municipal area is completely free of forests.

Transport links

The A16 autoroute ( Calais - Boulogne-sur-Mer ) runs through the municipality of Wacquinghen and the Calais - Boulogne-sur-Mer railway line runs almost parallel to it ( Ligne de Boulogne-Ville à Calais-Maritime ).
