Isques ( Flemish : Izeke ) is a French municipality with 1153 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France (before 2016: Nord-Pas-de-Calais ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Boulogne-sur-Mer and the canton of Outreau (until 2015: canton of Samer ). The inhabitants are called Isquois .
geography
Isques is located about six kilometers south-southeast of Boulogne-sur-Mer near the Atlantic coast , here called the Opal Coast , on the Liane River . The municipality is part of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature Park .
Isques is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Echinghen in the north, Baincthun in the east and northeast, Hesdin-l'Abbé in the south and southeast, Condette in the south and southwest, Saint-Étienne-au-Mont in the west and Saint-Léonard in the northwest.
