Saint-Etienne-au-Mont ( Flemish : Sint-Stevens Bergen ) is a French municipality with 5076 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Boulogne-sur-Mer and the canton of Outreau . The inhabitants are called Stéphanois .
geography
The municipality consists of the localities of Pont-de-Briques and Écault . Saint-Étienne-au-Mont is located on the Liane River near the Atlantic coast , which is called the Opal Coast here . The municipality is part of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature Park .
Saint-Étienne-au-Mont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Outreau in the north, Saint-Léonard in the northeast, Isques in the east, Condette in the south and southeast, Neufchâtel-Hardelot in the southwest and Équihen-Plage in the northwest.
