Katrin Staffler (nee Mair , born November 4, 1981 in Dachau ) is a German politician ( CSU ) and biochemist .

In the federal election on September 24, 2017 , she was elected to succeed Gerda Hasselfeldt as a constituency member for the Bundestag constituency of Fürstenfeldbruck-Dachau (BWK 215).

Life, education and work

Katrin Staffler was born in Dachau and grew up in Günding , Bergkirchen municipality in the Dachau district . After attending the Ignaz-Taschner-Gymnasium in Dachau and successfully completing the Abitur in 2001, she began studying biochemistry at the Technical University of Munich , which she completed with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 and a Master of Science degree in 2006 .

After completing his studies, Staffler initially worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Munich until 2010 . In 2010 she then switched to public relations with a focus on health care . From 2015, she was up to her entry into the 19th German Bundestag Spokeswoman of HypoVereinsbank - UniCredit Bank AG in Munich .

Staffler is a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany , which advocates a federal Europe and the European unification process.

Political party

In 2007 Staffler joined the Junge Union (JU), Frauen Union (FU) and the Christian-Social Union in Bavaria (CSU). In 2009 she became chairwoman of the Frauen Union Groebenzell. Since 2011 she has been a member of the executive board of the CSU district association Upper Bavaria , and since 2015 she has also been the deputy chairwoman of the CSU district association Fürstenfeldbruck .

Both in the Bundestag election in 2009 and in 2013 , Staffler ran unsuccessfully on the CSU state list for entry into the German Bundestag due to the insufficient CSU second vote results .

In autumn 2016 she was nominated as a CSU direct candidate for the constituency of Fürstenfeldbruck-Dachau.

As a representative of the CSU district association Fürstenfeldbruck, she took part in the party against the Dachau city and district councilor Florian Schiller, the entrepreneur Dr. Georg Graf von Hundt zu Lautterbach and the member of the state parliament Anton Kreitmair , all of whom were candidates for the CSU district association Dachau. In a runoff election , she was able to prevail against Florian Schiller by three votes.

Public offices

From 2008 to 2014 Katrin Staffler was a member of the municipal council of the community of Gröbenzell . Since 2014 she has been the district councilor of the Fürstenfeldbruck district , managing director of the local CSU district parliamentary group and a member of the administrative board of the district clinic and the Fürstenfeldbruck senior citizens' home. In the federal election on September 24, 2017 , she was elected a member of the 19th German Bundestag .

Katrin Staffler has been a member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since 2019 .

Private

Staffler has been married to her long-term partner, the bank manager and bank supervisory board member Emanuel Staffler, since 2016 . They live together in the municipality of Türkenfeld in the Fürstenfeldbruck district.
