history

After 1874 in the Grand Duchy of Baden, attendance at the so-called advanced training school was made compulsory for all school leavers . A kitchen was set up in the girls' school so that practical lessons could begin on May 1, 1894. At the suggestion of the Association for the Protection and Promotion of Trade and Industry , the municipal council initiated the necessary steps in 1998 to set up a special trade course.

As a result of the enormous boom in trade and industry, a separate department for specialist retailers was set up in the spring of 1900 at the trade school, Max-Egon-Strasse 16 / corner of Hermann-Fischer-Allee. In 1909 the advanced training school for girls moved to the basement of the new elementary school (today Heinrich Feurstein School). In 1911 a state-certified trade teacher was hired. From then on there were separate classes for business and trade students. In 1921 the commercial school was raised to the status of an independent institution (commercial vocational school). In 1935 the higher commercial school (today commercial vocational school) was founded. The commercial school and the higher commercial school moved into the building on Augustastr. 13 at (today Augustastr. 15) at. In 1939 the administration of the commercial school (116 students) and the higher commercial school (47 students) was transferred from the city to the district. On January 24, 1946, classes at the commercial colleges were resumed after a one-year break.

In 1948 the advanced training school for girls became the three-year vocational school for domestic economics. The basement in Irmastr served as the space. 1. In 1964 the housekeeping vocational school (housekeeping school) moved to the premises of the former grammar school (lyceum), Schulstr. 11, and shared it with the trade school located there. In 1965 446 students in 15 classes attended the commercial schools on Augustastrasse. On October 4, 1965, the new commercial college (C-building), Eichendorffstr. 21 related. In 1967 the housekeeping school moved to the new school building (A building), Eichendorffstraße 19. All house and agricultural vocational schools in the former Donaueschingen district were gradually closed and incorporated into the Donaueschingen agricultural and housekeeping vocational and vocational schools. The agricultural vocational school and the trade school remained at the old location, Schulstrasse 11, and the domestic business vocational school was entirely at the new location in Eichendorffstrasse. Three-year young workers' classes have been set up for young people without an apprenticeship. In 1968 the two-year vocational school for domestic economics (2BFH) was established. In 1971 the construction of the business school began. In 1972 IT classes (computer science and data processing classes) were established.

On November 15, 1979, the extension (B-building) of the home economics vocational and vocational schools was inaugurated according to the plans of the architect Harry Ludszuweit. The new school building is decorated with two wall installations by the famous German painter, sculptor and glass painter Emil Kiess .
