Keena Rothhammer
Keena Rothhammer (born February 26, 1957 in Little Rock , Arkansas ) is a former American swimmer .
During her active time she was at home on the distances from 200 m to 1500 m freestyle and set two world records in the 200 m and 800 m freestyle . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , at the age of 15, she became Olympic champion in the 800 m freestyle and won the bronze medal in the 200 m freestyle. A year later she became world champion in the 200 m freestyle at the first world championships in Belgrade and won the silver medal in the 400 m freestyle.
Due to persistent migraines, she ended her career as a swimmer at the age of 17. In 1991 she was inducted into the international swimming sport hall of fame .
