In 1997, two very different people met in New York City : the documentary filmmaker Erik Rothman and the friendly, very reserved lawyer Paul Lucy. At first it seems like a fleeting love affair, but it quickly develops into an immensely deep and passionate relationship in which both of them lose each other completely. Paul leaves his girlfriend to move in with Erik and they begin to build a life together. Nevertheless, both of them have to struggle with their own compulsions and addictions, even if it is the new and risky things that both attract. The two lose each other again and again and yet find each other again.
