Thure Lindhardt

Thure Frank Lindhardt (born December 24, 1974 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actor .

Life

Thure Lindhardt grew up in Roskilde , the son of Anne Lindhardt, a psychiatrist, and Mogens Lindhardt, the rector of the Copenhagen seminary . He comes from a family of theologians and Lutheran pastors. At the age of 12 he had his first appearances in Danish films. One of them was Pelle, the conqueror who received the Palme d'Or in Cannes in 1988 for best foreign film.

Lindhardt attended Det frie high school and drama school in Odense , which he graduated in 1998, and then took roles in the theater and in Danish television productions. His breakthrough came in 2000 in the film adaptation of Her i nærheden ( Here Near ), which was also shown at the 50th Berlinale . Lindhardt's portrayal of the autistic boy Brian earned positive reviews.

In Denmark he played in films, TV series and plays and is best known for his versatility and his sometimes unusual roles. He has also worked on the Danish dubbing of foreign language films ( Garfield - The Film ; Asterix and Obelix ; Herbie: Fully Loaded ) and played in music videos for Danish bands.

In Germany, he was best known for his portrayal of Hans in Was ave love in thoughts (2004). Lindhardt speaks German and has also had a few roles in the German TV series Tatort , Nachtschicht and Das Duo . Internationally he was seen in the Dan Brown film adaptation Illuminati (2009) as the Swiss Guard Chartrand. In 2012, he starred in the autobiographical film Keep the Lights On by Ira Sachs whose cinematic alter ego: a young homosexual director named Erik who is trying to save his relationship with the crack-dependent publishing lawyer Paul.

In 2013 Lindhardt was seen as Wolfgang Přiklopil in the film 3096 Days in German and Austrian cinemas. The film is about the kidnapping of the then ten-year-old Natascha Kampusch , who was held captive by Přiklopil for eight years and sexually abused. Lindhardt gained international fame through the portrayal of Wolfgang Přiklopil.

After Kim Bodnia's exit , he took on the male lead in 2015 for the third and fourth seasons of Die Brücke - Transit in den Tod .
