Kenneth Rosén ( 1949 - December 27, 2004 ) was a Swedish football coach . He worked in his home country, the Faroe Islands and Norway.

Career

Rosén played as a goalkeeper for Skellefteå AIK . In 1977 he began his coaching career at the amateur club Laxå IF , then he moved on to Karlslunds IF . In 1981 he took over the coaching position at Örebro SK from Tord Grip . The club, which is now in the second division, he led in his first season to second place in the table behind IFK Eskilstuna , after a sixth place in 1982 Roy Hodgson took over his duties. In 1984 IK Brage brought him to the Allsvenskan, with the club he managed to stay up twice in a row. Then Halmstads BK brought him in the summer of 1986 as the successor to Stefan Lundin who had migrated to Portugal , and in the 1986 season he missed the championship finals with the team around Jan Jönsson , Lars Ytterbom and Mats Jingblad as fifth . The following season was marked by a blatant away weakness, which led the club to relegation to the second division.

Rosén initially looked after the lower-class Kalmar AIK club before going abroad for the first time in 1990. Briefly he coached the Faroese club B68 Toftir , but returned to his hometown club Skellefteå AIK in Sweden that same year. In 1993 he went abroad again, the Norwegian fourth division team Raufoss IL securing his services. Although he missed promotion twice with the team, he had made a name for himself in a higher class. The third division Skjetten SK signed him in 1995. The following year he moved as a season winner with the club in the promotion round to the second division, but failed there at Runar .

1997 brought the second division team Bryne FK Rosén in the southwest of Norway. After two years with places in the middle of the table, he rose in 1999 with the team in the Tippeligaen . Despite successful relegation, he moved to Vålerenga Oslo , but after a failed start to the season he was released. After working at Hønefoss BK and Kongsvinger IL , he returned to Sweden in 2003. He led the second division Gefle IF at the end of the 2004 season to Allsvenskan.

In December 2004, Rosén died of cancer at the age of 55.
