Khomasdal is a suburb of Windhoek ( Namibia ) and constituency within the Khomas region . Khomasdal was - like Katutura - originally founded as a township (suburb) in the immediate vicinity of the capital Windhoek under the South African apartheid policy .
More than 35,800 people live in Khomasdal on an area of 26 square kilometers .
history
Khomasdal was until the independence of Namibia in 1990 by "colored" ( English : Colored ), d. H. People with predominantly Nama and Boers as ancestors inhabited, who enjoyed a higher social status and accordingly a higher standard of living than black Africans . Today's Khomasdal accordingly has mostly medium-sized properties and houses. In recent years, however, Khomasdal, Wanaheda and Katutura have grown so much into Windhoek that a spatial separation is no longer visible. Khomasdal is the location of the Windhoek College of Education and the Khomasdal Stadium .
