Church district of Sieg and Rhine
The Evangelical Church District An Sieg und Rhein is one of the 37 Church Districts of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland . It was created on January 1st, 1968 when the old church district of Bonn was divided into the church districts of Bonn , Bad Godesberg-Voreifel and An Sieg und Rhein. Currently (January 2020) it includes 33 parishes with a total of about 115,000 church members.
Area of the church district
The Evangelical Church District An Sieg und Rhein extends on the right bank of the Rhine with the Rhine as the border around the Sieg , with Overath being the northernmost, Neustadt - Vettelschoss being the southernmost and Leuscheid being the easternmost. The area of the church district lies predominantly in the Rhein-Sieg district on the right bank of the Rhine , although individual parishes belong to the Bonn city area, the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis and the Rhineland-Palatinate districts of Altenkirchen and Neuwied . The seat of the superintendent is Siegburg .

According to Rhenish church law, the church district is led by the district synod , which usually meets twice a year, by the district synodal committee and by the superintendent .
