The Klöpferbach is a brook in the Rems-Murr district in northern Baden-Württemberg, with its left upper course Heiligentalbach, a total of 10 km in length, which rises in the southern Löwenstein mountains , runs through the municipality of Aspach in the south and lastly at the town's hamlet Oberschöntal Backnang flows into the lower Murr from the right .

geography

Source and history

The Klöpferbach arises at about 457  m above sea level. NN in the north of the Rietenau area of the municipality of Aspach in the forest area Mönchsgarten , about 300 m northeast of the clearing around the Mönchshaus and less than 200 m south of the Hochstraße under the name Heiligentalbach . In the rapidly deepening blade , the young stream runs south past the aforementioned clearing, from where it receives the first significant inflow from a spring there on the right, then turns southwest and runs through the monk's blade . At the end of the corridor, between Edemer Berg in the west and Steinenberg in the east , the Schweinsbergklingenbach , about one kilometer long , emerges from the right , which also arises south of the Hochstrasse on the slope of the Schweinberg .

From now on, the Klöpferbach flows in a southerly direction, first through the bay of the Heiligental , at the end of which the 1.9 km long Jettenbach , emerging in the wooded Kreuzhalde , flows; after this inflow it is now called Klöpferbach . In the then open, hilly landscape and accompanied by a row of trees, it reaches the Aspacher suburb of Rietenau and, after crossing it, takes on the 3.5 km long forest stream running parallel in the village from the left . In the following, right on the hill from the K 1828 Rietenau-Großaspach accompanied wide valley, a 1.3 km long canal branches off to the right, which flows back into the stream at the Großaspacher Stegmühle. Shortly thereafter, the 4.2 km long Allmersbach flows from the right , which rises on the western edge of the Kreuzhalde near Vordervöhrenberg and runs through the Aspacher suburb of Allmersbach am Weinberg in between .

Then crosses the Klöpfer Bach Großaspach, the largest suburb of the municipality of Aspach, and occurs below this village into a narrow, steeper nascent and possibly serviced by dirt tracks limestone valley one in which he after the United Aspacher Talmuhle then in the area of the city Backnang after its beginning only left residents move further south. Here it flows past the villages of Unter- and Mittelschöntal on the right slope, the opposite slope of which is already wooded again. At the very last it feeds a 1.3 hectare reservoir at the foot of Oberschöntal and then flows out after a run of 10.2 km at 226.1  m above sea level. NN in a wooded estuary from the right into a northern curve of the Murr between Backnang and Burgstall .

The 10.3 km long stretch of water from Heiligentalbach and then Klöpferbach with a mean bed gradient of 22 ‰ flows about 230 meters below the Heiligentalbach source.

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Klöpferbach covers 17.0 km² between the southernmost heights of the Löwenstein Mountains in the north and the Murr in the south. In terms of nature , it is located on the upper reaches of the southwestern Löwenstein Mountains of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains , on the middle and lower reaches of the Inner Backnang Bay . It is roughly in the shape of a slender funnel tapering to the south. At the 3.5 km widest point in the north, it borders the curve of the Hohe Straße and narrows towards the south to around Großaspach to a width of almost 1.5 km, which it then holds almost to the mouth. The north-south axis is not quite 8.5 km in length.

In the north, the catchment area borders the “Spiegelberger” Lauter , which runs through the Löwenstein Mountains , and in the north-east it is briefly bordered by the Oppenweiler Rohrbach and the Backnang Eckertsbach . Behind the longest part of the eastern border that follows, almost as far as the Murr, the Krähenbach competes , which runs parallel to the Klöpfersbach to the Murr in a shorter run.

From the estuary up to its north, the desert stream, which also flows right south to the Murr, competes west of the watershed .

Localities

In the valley of the Klöpferbach , Rietenau, the Stegmühle, almost all of Großaspach and the Talmühle, all of which belong to the municipality of Aspach , lie one after the other on the upper and middle reaches . In the valley of the largest tributary Allmersbach is the suburb of Allmersbach am Weinberg , further uphill the settlement area Vordervöhrenberg also drains into the Allmersbachtal.

On the right side of the slope of the Unterlauf are the Backnang suburbs Unter- and Mittelschöntal, the largest part of Oberschöntal on the left hill also drains into the lowest Klöpferbach.

geology

The Klöpferbach rises in the Stubensandstein ( Löwenstein Formation ) of the upper Mittelkeuper , passes through the reed sandstone ( Stuttgart Formation ) before the Schweinsbergklingenbach flows into it and then remains in the Gipskeuper ( grave field formation ) until it reaches the Allmersbach . When entering the undulating landscape of the Backnanger Bay near Rietenau, loess lies on the accompanying hills, the brook itself has deposited floodplain sediments here in a partly wide hollow down to the valley mill of Großaspach. After the Allmersbach, the Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt formation ) sets in on the right slope and extends on this side almost to the mouth. From the valley mill, the valley floor lies down to the mouth in the Upper Muschelkalk , which then also occupies both slopes in the mouth funnel.

At Rietenau, a partially proven south-west-north-east fault crosses the valley, at the inlet of the Allmersbach a west-east one, both of which belong to the Neckar-Jagst Furche association .
