The small Belgerkopf is about 490  m above sea level. NHN high southern foothills of the Großer Belgerkopf ( 499.9  m ) in the Söhre (sub-area Stiftswald Kaufungen ) in the municipality of Helsa in the north Hessian district of Kassel .

The Kleine Belgerkopf rises in the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werratal.Meißner.Kaufunger forest) within the wooded Stiftswald Kaufungen . Its summit is about 4.4 km southwest of the core town of Helsa , 2.6 km west-northwest of its district Eschenstruth and about 4.6 km south of Oberkaufungen , the core town of Kaufungen . The distance between the summit of the Kleiner and Großer Belgerkopf is about 1000 m (as the crow flies ).

Natural allocation

The small Belgerkopf belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Osthessisches Bergland (No. 35), in the main unit Fulda-Werra-Bergland (357) and in the subunit Kaufunger Wald und Söhre (357.7) to the natural area Söhre (357.70).

Flowing waters

A tributary of the Losse rises with the Steinbach on the common eastern flank of the Klein and Großer Belgerkopf . On the common western flank lies the source of the Wahlebach (Fahrenbach) , a tributary of the Fulda .

Development

The Kleine Belgerkopf can only be reached on hiking trails , for example on the Eder-Gelster-Weg, which runs over the summit region and connects the Eder in the west and the Gelster in the east.
