Kobeřice (German Köberwitz ) is a municipality with 3,228 inhabitants (January 1, 2004) in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 km northeast of Opava on Oldrišovský potok not far from the border with Poland and belongs to the Okres Opava .
history
Köberwitz in the Silesian district of Ratibor belonged to the Hultschiner Ländchen and was part of the Kingdom of Prussia since 1742 . In 1922, it was in accordance with the Treaty of Versailles to the Czechoslovakia ceded. The place had 2,077 inhabitants in 1939.
Between 1939 and 1945 the place belonged again to the German Reich and since the end of the Second World War it became Czech again.
