Ludgeřovice (German Ludgierzowitz , 1939–45 Ludgerstal , Polish Ludgierzowice ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 8 kilometers northwest of Ostrava and 2 kilometers southeast of Hlučín on the left bank of the Oppa in the Hultschiner Ländchen (Hlučínsko). Administratively it belongs to the Okres Opava , Moravian-Silesian Region .
history
The first written mention of the village of Rudgersdorf was on January 28, 1303 in a document from Landek Castle . dates from 1377. The name of the place is derived from its locator Rudger. The R later became L through Slavic transformation.
With the partition of Silesia in 1742, Ludgierzowitz became Prussian. The new border with Austrian Silesia was formed by the Oppa and ran south of the village. Hultschin was part of the Leobschütz district and was assigned to the Ratibor district during the district reform in 1816 .
Through the Treaty of Versailles , the village came to Czechoslovakia in 1920 , although the year before, in a referendum, the Moravian-speaking population had clearly spoken out in favor of staying with Silesia. The name Hultschiner Ländchen was created for the area of assignment . On April 14, 1939, as a result of the Munich Agreement, the area was reintegrated into the Ratibor district, after which it had initially belonged to the Sudeten German areas since November 21, 1938. In 1939 the village was renamed Ludgerstal. In 1945 Ludgeřovice came back to Czechoslovakia.
