The Opava ( German Oppa , Polish Opawa ) is a left tributary of the Oder in the Moravian-Silesian Region ( Czech Republic ). It arises in Vrbno pod Pradědem in the Jeseníky Mountains through the confluence of three source rivers:
- The Bílá Opava ( White Oppa ) rises on Praděd ( Altvater )
- The Střední Opava ( Middle Oppa ) rises on Malý Děd ( Little Father Mountain )
- The Černá Opava ( Black Oppa ) rises on Orlík ( Urlichkuppe )
On its way to the east, the Opava flows through the town of Krnov ( hunting village ), where the Goldoppa flows into. Your further course leads a short distance along the border with Poland , to the city of Opava ( Troppau ), from there through a pond area to the vicinity of the city of Hlučín ( Hultschin ). The Opava finally flows to 131 km at the foot of Hladový vrch ( 253 m nm ) in Ostrava ( Ostrava ) between the neighborhoods Hošťálkovice ( Hoschialkowitz ) and Třebovice in the OR.
