Kokdala ( Chinese  可 克達拉 市  /  可 克达拉 市 , Pinyin Kěkèdálā Shì ; Uighur كۆكدالا شەھىرى, Yengi Kɵkdala Xəⱨiri ) is a district- free city in the north of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China and is directly subordinate to the regional government (and not like other urban districts) . It is located in the Kazakh Autonomous District of Ili and was only created as a city on March 18, 2015. This makes it the eighth city in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps . The city covers 980 km² and has about 80,000 inhabitants.
