Kunyu (also: Kurumkasch ; Chinese  昆 玉 市 , Pinyin Kūnyù Shì ; Uighur قۇرۇمقاش شەھىرى, Yengi Ⱪurumⱪax Xəⱨiri ) is a district- free city in the south of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China and is directly subordinate to the regional government (and not like other district-level cities) . It is located in Hotan County and was only officially founded in 2016.

The city arose on the settlement area of ​​the 224th Regiment of the 14th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC). In January 2016, the State Council of the People's Republic of China decided the administrative establishment of the city and on February 26, 2016 the official establishment was held. The city extends over an area of ​​687.13 km² and is 78 km from the district town of Hotan and is known for its date cultivation.
