Tiemenguan ( Chinese 铁门关 市 , Pinyin Tiěménguān Shì , Uighur باشئەگىم شەھىرى, Yengi Baxəgim Xəⱨiri ) is an independent city in the center of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China , which was founded on December 29, 2012 and is directly subordinate to the regional government (and not, like other urban districts, at the district level) . It was separated from the administrative area of the city of Korla , which it completely encompasses. Tiemenguan has an area of 590.27 square kilometers and around 200,000 inhabitants (end of 2012).
Administrative structure
At the community level, Tiemenguan consists of a street district and two large communities . These are:
- Road quarter Zhongxin Chengqu (中心城区街道);
- Greater community Boguqi (博古其镇);
- Greater community Shuangfeng (双丰镇).
