The 1973 season was the second season of the Korać Cup held by FIBA Europe .

Eleven teams from eight nations took part. First, three groups with three teams each were formed. The first in each group reached the semi-finals, followed by the final. In addition, another semi-finalist was determined in the duel between MTV Wolfenbüttel and Picadero JC Barcelona . The winners of the pairings in the group stage were determined in the first and second leg. The overall result of both games was decisive. Whoever decided this was awarded the victory. The winners of the pairings in the semi-finals and in the final were also determined in the first and second leg.
