Kotešová is a municipality in northwest Slovakia with 2069 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Bytča , part of the Žilinský kraj .
geography
The village is located in the Bytčianska kotlina basin at the foot of the Javorníky , at the mouth of the Rovnianka brook into the Váh . The place is also separated from the Hričovský kanál canal . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 330 m nm and is four kilometers from Bytča .
Administratively, the municipality is divided into the municipal parts Buková, Kotešová and Oblazov.
history
The present municipality was created in 1944 through the merger of Veľká Kotešová (Hungarian Trencsénkutas ) and Zemianska Kotešová (Hungarian Nemeskutas ), to which Malá Kotešová and Oblazov were added in 1888 and 1907, respectively.
Ve Ortká Kotešová was first mentioned in writing in 1234.
