Kolárovice (Hungarian Kolaróc - until 1907 Kollárovic ) is a municipality in northwestern Slovakia with 1810 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Bytča , part of Žilinský kraj .
geography
The village is located in the Javorník Mountains in the valley of the Kolárovický brook . The 27.54 km² large municipal area is hilly in the south and mountainous in the north, where it rises to the main ridge of the Javorník Mountains. There is predominantly brown soils and the forests are scattered throughout the municipality. The center of the village is at an altitude of 390 m nm and is six kilometers from Bytča and 24 kilometers from Žilina .
Administratively, the municipality is divided into seven parts, these are Babiše, Bršlica, Čiakov, Kolárovice, Korytné, Slopkov and Škoruby.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1312 as Henrici villa ( Henrichsdorf ), after the name of the first judge, who was called Henrich. The village initially belonged to the Hričov manor , later to that of Bytča. In 1784 there were 439 houses and 2020 inhabitants, in 1828 436 houses and 2065 inhabitants. The main sources of income were wire binding, forestry and work in a saw.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. To this day the village has preserved its numerous individual settlements.

According to the 2011 census, Kolárovice had 1,826 inhabitants, 1807 of whom were Slovaks, three Czechs and one Pole. 15 residents did not provide any information. 1707 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church, ten residents to the Seventh-day Adventists, seven residents to the Evangelical Church AB, five residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses, four residents to the Reformed Church, three residents to the Orthodox Church and two residents to the Evangelical Church -Methodist Church. 12 residents were of other denominations. 32 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 56 residents has not been determined.
