Hospital Museum Nuremberg is a museum of the Nuremberg Clinic , which emerged from a completely preserved hospital pharmacy and presents the history of the health system in the city of Nuremberg and that of the clinic as well as medical exhibits.

history

With the establishment of the new Klinikum Süd, the headquarters of the hospital pharmacy, which was previously located in an administrative building of Klinikum Nord, was relocated to Langwasser. For example, a hospital museum was set up in the former hospital pharmacy for the 100th anniversary of the hospital.

exhibition

The centerpiece of the exhibition is the completely preserved oak hospital pharmacy with many standing vessels and drawers for storing various powders and herbs. In a total of ten exhibition rooms there is also a collection of medical devices and a distillation plant from the early 1870s. On the basis of this, the history of the city hospital as well as the medical and health system in Nuremberg is documented and presented. A supplementary ten-minute film highlights the complexity of operations in a modern hospital.
