The foliage Museum in Nuremberg district Langwasser shows various original summer houses from the 1920s and 1930s. It is the only one of its kind in Germany.

history

Between 1994 and 1997, the allotment holders eV were several original summer houses of the 1920s and 1930s from various by the Urban Community of Nuremberg allotments saved in the urban area and restored. The seven arbors were brought into the context of their time of origin and equipped with original furniture and tools. The opening took place on May 9, 1998. In 2010 and 2011 the arbors were repainted in their original colors. Major renovation measures were carried out in 2018.

Others

For the 20th anniversary of the museum, as part of the Trees for Human Rights campaign, two ginkgo trees were planted and a plaque with Article 24 of Human Rights was erected at the entrance to the museum. This states: Everyone has the right to rest and leisure and, in particular, to reasonable limitation of working hours and regular paid vacation.
