Village square in Krassolzheim

Krassolzheim is a district of the Sugenheim market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Central Franconia .

Geographical location

The village lies on the open ground in the southern Steigerwald in the northern part of Ehegrund at the origin of the small marriage , which flows together on the southern edge of the village from the more important right Biegenbach and the short left Riedgraben and then moves eastwards along the edge of the village. In the north of Krassolzheim a large, wooded ridge of the low mountain range extends from west to east. There is on the southern slopes of the Hüllerberg and the birch tendrils to over 410  m above sea level. NHN Höhe wine is grown in the Krassolzheimer Pfaffenberg location.

history

Krassolzheim (originally "Graszulzun", in 1023 "Graszulzim") was first mentioned in 816 in the deed of foundation of the Megingaudshausen monastery (Benedictine monastery Meingozhausen) . In the middle of the village is the site of the former moated castle . The tower of the Nicolaikirche (St. Nikolaus) lies in this area, but does not belong to the former castle.

In the Middle Ages, the Lords of Seinsheim and Seckendorff usually sat at the castle . Partly the place was fiefdom of the Michelsberg monastery in Bamberg.

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent community was incorporated into the Sugenheim market.
