history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1326 as "housing Totzzentale". The original fiefdom was the Michelsberg monastery . The Dutzenthal castle was in 1381 in possession of the knight Seibreht Kropff. In 1394 he sold it to the von Seckendorff family . In the meantime, Dutzenthal belonged to the Bernbeck brothers. In 1529 Hans von Seckendorff bought the castle with two courtyards from them for 1750 guilders. The castle that still exists today was built by Neidhard von Seckendorff in the 1690s.
Towards the end of the 18th century, Dutzenthal consisted of only one property. The high court exercised the Vogtamt Lenkersheim , which was contested by the rule Sugenheim . The estate was owned by Sugenheim as the landlord .
As part of the community edict, Dutzenthal was assigned to the Sugenheim tax district formed in 1811 and the Sugenheim rural community in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818), the place was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community Deutenheim . On January 1, 1972, Dutzenthal was incorporated into Sugenheim as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
