Krayenzeit (pronounced Kraenzeit) is a German folk band from Ludwigsburg . The band sees itself as belonging to the genres of Folk Metal and Medieval Rock as well as Medieval Metal. The band, which has released four albums to date, writes music and lyrics itself.
history
Krayenzeit emerged from the band Feanor , which was founded in the late 1990s and early 2000s and to which Markus Engelfried, Joachim Lappel and Alexander Reichert belonged. These three decided in 2011 to re-record Feanor's old songs in good quality. Christian Zoschke and Martin Daniel completed the preliminary project in autumn 2011. After the old Feanor songs had been revised and new songs had been written and the band had been completed by Karin Bußmann and Julia Groth, the band was renamed "Krayenzeit".
In 2014 Krayenzeit won the Facebook tender for the Medieval Spectacle in St. Pölten and performed there with Versengold , Corvus Corax , Omnia and In Extremo in front of 1,500 viewers. On 19 June 2015, the band released their debut album on dark wings that on the label Oblivion / SPV appeared. In the same year the band began working with the booking agency Headline Concerts. After Karin Bußmann had already been replaced by Meike Katrin Stein in 2015, Jessica Kondermann joined the band for Julia Groth in 2016.
On August 24, 2016, the band's second album, called Tenebra, was released . In 2016 Krayenzeit performed at the Wacken Open Air , the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig , the Burgfolk Festival at Broich Castle and the Feuertanz Festival. Finally, Krayenzeit accompanied the folk rock band Schandmaul on their LeuchtFeuer tour. In 2017 the band will tour Germany again with Schandmaul as well as headlining them . In 2017, Meike Katrin Stein left the band because she was too busy working on film scores. The new violinist was Shir-Ran Yinon, who had previously played with Eluveitie , Haggard and New Model Army . In July of the same year guitarist Christian Zoschke left the band for personal, time and musical reasons. His successor was Marc "Micki" Richter, who already recorded the album Von Mond und Schatten , which was released on October 27, 2017 .
