Croatian Adriatic
The Croatian Adriatic ( Croatian Hrvatski Jadran ) is the Adriatic coast of Croatia . It is predominantly karstified and extends on the east coast of the Adriatic between the Prevlaka peninsula and the Savudrijska vala . The Slovenian Riviera connects to the north and the Montenegrin coast to the south .
The coastline is (without islands) 1,777 kilometers and with the islands over 6,000 kilometers.

Administratively, the Croatian Adriatic coast includes the following counties :
- Istria County
- Primorje-Gorski kotar County
- Lika-Senj County
- Zadar County
- Šibenik-Knin County
- Split-Dalmatia County
- Dubrovnik-Neretva County
Tourist regions
In the north of the Croatian coast is the Istrian Riviera . The Kvarner Bay connects further south . The Makarska Riviera is the tourist stronghold in the Split-Dalmatia County . In the extreme south is the Konavle region.
Tourism, shipbuilding and agriculture are the most important industries. The climate is Mediterranean .
There are 1,185 islands in front of the indented coast with numerous bays , 67 of which are inhabited.
The biggest cities are Dubrovnik , Split , Zadar , Šibenik , Rijeka and Pula . The Croatian Adriatic coast is through the newly built after the state independence highway A1 connected as well as railway and air transport with the interior and neighboring countries.
There are three national parks on the Croatian Adriatic Sea : National Park Mljet , National Park Kornati and National Park Brijuni and in the immediate vicinity are National Park Paklenica , National Park North Velebit , National Park Risnjak and National Park Krka .
