Kuno Thassilo von Auer (born July 28, 1818 in Königsberg , † December 24, 1895 ibid) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Kuno Thassilo came from the noble family von Auer . He was the son of the later Prussian Major General Kasimir von Auer (1788-1837) and his wife Friederike Leopoldine Ferdinande von Kleist (born October 16, 1792 in Perlin ; † November 17, 1876 in Königsberg).

Military career

Auer attended high school in his hometown and on September 1, 1835, joined the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a musketeer . In 1855 he became a captain and in the following year adjutant to the chief of the general staff . Auer took part in the campaign against Denmark in 1864 and on April 18, 1865, as Lieutenant Colonel, was commander of the 1st Battalion of Infantry Regiment No. 18 . In the war against Austria Auer fought near Gitschin and Königgrätz . After the end of the war, Auer was promoted to colonel on December 31, 1866 with a patent dated October 30, 1866 and on that date was appointed commander of Grenadier Regiment No. 1 . 1868 in the Prussian War Ministry offset Auer was on 18 August 1868 with board for disposition made to the primogeniture goldsmiths in the district Samland to farm.

During the mobilization on the occasion of the Franco-Prussian War , Auer was appointed deputy commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade on July 18, 1870. Auer was married to Charlotte Viktoria Angela Agnes von Plocki from the Scharnigk family (born January 24, 1831 in Königsberg, † April 22, 1907 in Rudolstadt) since November 7, 1849. She was the daughter of Franz Felix Kajetan von Plocki (* August 30, 1795; † June 7, 1784) and his first wife Charlotte Philippine Maria von Hatten (* April 24, 1801; † November 24, 1831). The couple had the following children:
