Casimir von Auer

Ludwig Kasimir von Auer (born February 2, 1788 in Labiau , † July 18, 1837 in Teplitz ) was an officer in the Prussian army, most recently major general.

Life

His parents were the later Prussian major general Johann Kasimir von Auer and his wife Friederike Elisabeth born. d'Artis von Bequignolle (born December 26, 1754 in Sieslack, † April 11, 1809 in Königsberg).

Military career

Auer attended the old town high school in Königsberg (Prussia) and joined the 2nd East Prussian Fusilier Brigade of the Prussian Army on December 12, 1802 as a private corporal . During the Fourth Coalition War in 1806/07 he fought near Thorn, Waltersdorf, Braunsberg, Podgurz, Gurznow and in the Battle of Prussian Eylau . On May 23, 1807 Auer became adjutant to his brother-in-law, Colonel Friedrich Wilhelm Bülow von Dennewitz . At the beginning of the campaign in 1812 , Auer was transferred to the 1st Leib-Hussar Regiment No. 1 as Prime Lieutenant . In the following years, Auer distinguished himself several times.
