Johann Kasimir von Auer (born November 6, 1736 in Königsberg , † October 19, 1809 in Gallhöfen ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Johann Kasimir came from the noble family von Auer . He was the son of Christoph Albrecht von Auer (February 26, 1710 - July 23, 1794) and his wife Rosa, born von Mirande (February 18, 1718 - April 19, 1790). His father was a gentleman at Bilshöfen and Lichtenfeld, court judge and secret finance councilor and hospital director. Major General Jonas Casimir von Auer was his grandfather.

Military career

Auer enrolled on September 29, 1752 as a student at the University of Königsberg . In 1754 he was employed as a Junker in the "von Schorlemer" dragoon regiment of the Prussian army . First as ensign , later as second lieutenant and prime minister , Auer fought during the Seven Years' War near Groß-Jägersdorf , Zorndorf , Kay , Liegnitz and Freiberg and was at the siege of Dresden . In December 1770 he became staff captain and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . Auer remained connected to his regiment throughout his life. He became squadron chief and rose to regimental commander in April 1790. On the occasion of a revue in Königsberg, Auer received the order Pour le Mérite on June 7, 1802 . The following year King Friedrich Wilhelm III appointed him . head of the regiment and promoted him on May 20, 1803 to major general.

He dimittierte on 20 March 1807 an annual pension of 800 taler.
