history

The freight forwarding company Lübbe was founded in 1953, in the post-war period , by Franz Lübbe in the then still independent community of Bethen in the district of Cloppenburg and transported piece and bulk goods as well as bagged goods in local transport . In 1957 the company moved to Bösel and from there also carried out transports to and from the port cities of Bremen and Brake , where a lot of grain was handled. In 1960 the company moved to a larger company site within Bösel; Back then, besides grain and animal feed, building materials were also transported. In 1975, the first of which was food tank - semitrailer purchased, and in subsequent years, the forwarding operation of bulk and cargo traffic separated. There was a specialization in the transport of liquids, so that gradually only tank trailers were purchased.

Since December 1984 the company has operated as Spedition Lübbe OHG . In 1985, the company's founder, Franz Lübbe, resigned the management and passed it on to his sons Ewald Lübbe (* 1948) and Franz-Josef Lübbe (* 1947). The vehicle fleet was constantly growing, and the first mixtures of feed fats were made on the company premises and were delivered in Südoldenburg. Due to the growing vehicle fleet and the increasing amount of feed fats, today's 1.0  hectare company premises in the Bösel industrial park in Osterloh were acquired. The move to the new company building there took place in 1993; At that time, the fleet comprised 15 tractor units and 18 tank trailers. In order to be able to meet the increased demand for feed fats, a tank farm was built on the site, which initially consisted of 5 tanks, each with a capacity of 32,000  liters . One of these tanks was and is still used today only as a mixing and loading tank.

From 1993 to 2008 the vehicle fleet was expanded and the tank farm expanded. The family business was now called Lübbe Transport & Logistik GmbH . In May 2009 the management was transferred from Ewald and Franz-Josef Lübbe to Jörg and Dirk Lübbe. The liquidation of Spedition Lübbe OHG was completed in 2009 and the OHG was dissolved in July 2009.

Cooperation with Harles and Jentzsch

At least since 1985 there have been business connections with the chemical company Harles und Jentzsch , which is based in Uetersen in Schleswig-Holstein and which specializes in the processing and distribution of animal and vegetable oils / fats and their derivatives. Harles und Jentzsch produces feed fats as animal feed or compound feed components for the agricultural sector, as well as chemical fats as technical chemicals for the paper and chemical industries .

Since the mid-1980s, the forwarding company Lübbe von Harles und Jentzsch, based in the high-selling region of “Südoldenburg”, has been increasingly entrusted with the mixing and delivery of feed fats of feed fats.

As part of this collaboration, it became known towards the end of 2010 that the Uetersen chemical company Harles und Jentzsch had produced at least 3,000 tons of dioxin- contaminated feed fat from delivered, contaminated fat in November and December 2010 and sold it for further processing to feed manufacturers throughout Germany. The raw material storage as well as the mixing and delivery of these feed fats took place according to the previous investigations by the authorities by Lübbe Transport & Logistik, which acted as contractor for Harles and Jentzsch .

From the beginning of January 2011, the public prosecutor's offices in Itzehoe and Oldenburg investigated violations of food and feed law. As part of the investigation, searches were also carried out in Uetersen and Bösel. A spokesman for the Lower Saxony Ministry of Agriculture said that the Lübbe haulage company did not have a permit to store and mix fats for animal feed production. The company denied the allegations.

In April 2011, the public prosecutor's investigation against the company's two managing directors was discontinued.
